Casting and Housing Meeting

Alrighty then, sorry guys been a little while this week has been a little over the place. Tuesday afternoon I had casting, my time was 1:30 pm so I got to Chatham's bus stop a little after 1 pm. I was talking to a few people getting to know some more people. Ironically enough I was talking to the girl next to me at the bus stop and she was actually also from New Hampshire, needless to say I was wicked surprised. It was cool meeting someone from about 45 minutes away from me, I had never expected that! Anyways, around 1:45 pm the casting bus arrived, it's a special coach bus that has a sign that says Casting, so don't get on any other bus you may think will take you to casting, there's a "special" one.

Okay so everyone got in line and one of the guys checked our forms of ID and made sure we had everything we needed paperwork wise. So on the bus the tour guide was talking, really enthusiastic and such you know the deal.

So we get to casting and it's really just paperwork, paperwork, more paperwork, and some finger prints. It's a decent amount of information that honestly went in one ear and out the other, but oh well, a lot of it is common sense. All I can really say is just be prepared with your documents, I got through it decently fast, about an hour and fifteen minutes from when I got to Casting I was out. And that was that.

Today I had my housing meeting at 4 pm, it was pretty dry, and again all common sense with the rules and what you can and can't do in the complexes. Pretty much just use your head and you'll be fine, don't drink underage, no weapons, no visitors past 1 am, no sneaking people in, mostly stuff like that, it's all standard procedure so I wouldn't attempt to get around it unless you want to be termed. So that's enough about housing.

My traditions isn't until 3 pm on Friday, so I don't really have anything to do until then since I don't have my ID to get into the parks, and I don't have a car down here... but I start training at EPCOT on Saturday, 8 am so that will be interesting. We shall see how it goes. For now watching Treasure Planet with the roomies.

Ta ta for now!

Check In!

Well I survived check in. It actually was relatively simple to be honest. I got to Vista Way around 6:30 AM and got in line right outside the complex. The security guards were asking if everyone had 8 am check in times, word to the wise, just nod your head and say yes. I technically had a 10 am check in time. Regardless I went anyways. At 8 am they let us into Vista and we walked down to the pavilion or whatever it was called, I was early enough in line I was under the canopies right away instead of having to snake around in the line and everything.

Okay so check in, pretty much you get into two lines, one for last names A-L and the other M-Z, course I was M-Z. I quickly got to the front of the line and they gave me a sticker with my location.

Drum roll please.....

I am EPCOT Future World South Merchandise.

Whatever that means? Anyways, I will find out more tomorrow at casting. So besides that it is a bunch of stations where you find out when you have casting, traditions, talk to some employees about safety, your direct deposit, I9 forms, etc, you get the point.

So casting, housing welcome session, and traditions.... well they are pretty spread out throughout the week. Casting is tomorrow at 1:30 PM and I should find out exactly where I am working (hopefully). I have my housing meeting at 4 PM on Wednesday, pretty sure that is just the complex rules and safety. Then finally Friday I have traditions, apparently group 2, no idea what time that means, guessing it is later in the day. So we shall see, sadly I cannot go to the park until after I get my cast ID on Friday. Oh well I have 8 months to explore the parks.

Sorry it was quick but I am quite tired, it was a long day of moving in and Walmart trips, ta ta for now!

3 Days!

Disney is soooo close!! only 3 more days, 2 and a half, well close enough whatever it is, it's Wednesday night and I leave Saturday afternoon. So what has been going on here in New Hampshire? Well despite everyone getting flu shots, we all managed to get the flu, or some sort of nasty stomach bug.... no comment there. Luckily I'm much better now, completely knocked me out for about 3-4 days, still have quite the headache, but other than that I'm doing a lot better. Regardless, I cannot wait for Disney. I'm definitely going to miss my friends and family, but that's part of the experience, it's not like I'm leaving forever, although it is weird that everyone is back at school right now and I'm just here watching Spy Kids 3D.

So besides being sick I got a lot of packing done. Space bags are life savers, I used the Ziploc brand because they were on sale at Target and it's a brand I "trust." So for you all wondering how I am packing since I'm flying here is what I have... I have 3 suitcases (1 large, 2 medium), 1 tiny carry on suitcase, another carry on rolling bag thing for some scrapbook stuff, and my backpack. Now you may be wondering how I am going to get this all on the plane? Luckily my mom is coming down with me to make sure I get settled in, and she gets a nice Florida vacation. But we are taking Southwest which allows each passenger 2 free checked bags, a carry on and a personal item, so between the 2 of us we can get it all on. As for getting it back, well I'm not worrying about that yet.

So since I am getting to Orlando on Saturday night and check in isn't until Monday morning, mom and I have decided to hit up Harry Potter world on Sunday since we are both huge fans. I for see a big trip to Honeydukes, maybe if I'm lucky there will be a chocolate frog in my future. I have a couple of Slytherin t-shirts, of course packed in my suitcases ready to go. The one thing I would like to find there is some sort of time turner, like a key chain to put on my keys, who doesn't need more time in their life? Anyways, I'm excited to go back there again, I went a few years ago but haven't been able to get back since high school.

Monday is check in though, I already have an idea where I will be living since on DORMS in the vehicle registration form it lists your complex and apartment number, it's not a given and could change at last minute, but as of right now I have all my requested roommates, my first choice complex and my first choice apartment size, Chatham Square 2 bedroom. Right now it says we are 30104 in Chatham, which is in the back corner of the complex, but at least we are on the first floor. Hopefully the apartment is clean and doesn't have issues, I've heard some horror stories about people finding bed bugs and such the past couple weeks, that will not be acceptable and I will make sure our apartment is up to par for what we are paying for it.

Other than that, I do know a couple people who are already at Disney with access to the Hub, therefore I probably could ask them to look up where I am working, but since I already "know" where I will be living I want to leave something to be a surprise, it's no fun knowing everything when you go in, besides if something does change I don't want to be disappointed. I have only been to Disney World once though and it was for the millennium, so I was about 6 or 7, and I don't remember much of it especially all the locations so even if they told me the location I would have absolutely no idea what store that meant, whether it were to be a resort or a park, so I guess we will find out and see! Sorry this post was a little random, once I get to Disney I will attempt to post more regularly, but no promises I've heard there's little free time once you get working down there.

Ta ta for now!

11 Days

Sorry everyone I've been wicked busy! I cannot believe there is only 11 more days until I leave for Disney. I just hope with all the flight delays and cancellations that I won't have a problem getting to Orlando! Anyways, I just got my DORMS email today and was able to link up with the three girls I want to live with. It was pretty simple, I logged into DORMS and updated my contact information, read through a few pages of paperwork and then came the preferences. I typed in each of my roommate's ID numbers, hit validate and submit. The next page was housing preferences, like location and unit size. We chose Chatham first, and our second and third choices as Vista and the Commons respectively. Then for size our first choice is a two bedroom, then three and four. Nothing is guaranteed, so I won't find out until my check in on January 20th if I actually get to room with these girls or where exactly we will be. I can only hope that we get lucky and at least all get put together!

Other than that I've been packing.... oh gosh it is not an easy task. Right now I'm planning on having 3 checked suitcases, a small carry on suitcase, and my backpack. My mom and I are flying Southwest, so they give each passenger 2 free checked bags. Since my mom is only there for a couple days, she will only need one suitcase, making it so I don't get charged for another bag. Definitely take Southwest if you're flying or else you'll have to pay for your bags! I've also been using ziploc space bags, and they are absolutely genius! Just have to make sure I don't go over that 50 lb weight limit. Anyways, that's all I have time for now! Back to packing and work and cleaning oh my.

Ta ta for now!
